Warehouse heating repair Great Notley — what to check before you call

The commercial buildings here are mostly modern. The Skyline 120 business park beside the A120 junction mixes distribution and light industrial units with office buildings, and the wider Braintree estates are only a few minutes away. In the big sheds, heat rarely comes from radiators: it usually comes from gas-fired warm air unit heaters hung from the roof or standing on the floor, radiant tube heaters running the length of a bay, or radiant plaque heaters over a work area, sometimes with destratification fans pushing warm air back down. The office pods, canteens and welfare blocks normally have their own wall-hung or floor-standing commercial boiler or a gas water heater. Most warehouse heaters are mounted high, so access decides how quickly a fault can be fixed. Tell us the mounting height, whether a scissor lift or other access platform is on site or would need hiring, and whether racking, stock or forklift routes sit under the heater. Flueless radiant heaters rely on the building's ventilation, so never run them with vents or louvres blocked by stock. Don't keep resetting a locked-out heater or bypass an overheat stat or flue fan: work inside the appliance is for a Gas Safe registered engineer (FCBH Gas Safe registration 985448).
