Food processing, cold storage and a working inland port
Wisbech is Cambridgeshire's only port to the sea, and English Brothers still import timber through it. Boleness Road has large-scale frozen-food cold storage (Partner Logistics opened a £12m freezer warehouse there in 2010) alongside smaller light-industrial units. Purina's pet food factory on Cromwell Road is the best-known plant; sites of that scale have their own maintenance teams, so our calls come more from the smaller food, packing and engineering firms around them.
